10:0am - 11:10am Sunday Children's Program upstairs

Our nursery, toddler, and elementary programs are a welcoming place for all children where they can learn of God’s love and grace while learning to be a part of a church family.  If you need additional information on any of our children’s programs, please contact Lillie Tillar, Director of Children’s Ministries, at 757-428-3573, EXT 22 .

Nursery Care (Infant - 15 months)

The goal of our nursery program is to provide a safe, healthy and pleasant environment for our youngest members. Paid professional workers staff the nursery. All nursery workers are First Aid/CPR certified and have completed the Safe Church training as required by the diocese.  Our infant (newborn - 15 months approx.) nursery is located downstairs directly across from the elevator - which is to the right when you come through the main entrance.

Toddler and Preschool Care (18 months - 5 years)

Our Toddler and Preschool program is focused on providing a nurturing, creative and safe environment for our 2-5 year olds. Paid professional workers staff our toddler and preschool rooms. All childcare workers are First Aid/CPR certified and have completed the Safe Church training as required by the diocese. Toddlers and preschoolers have an opportunity to experience an interactive curriculum by being introduced to a new Bible story or theme each Sunday. Through storytelling, songs, games, play and crafts they explore these age appropriate lessons. Our toddler and preschool rooms are located upstairs. The stairs in between the sanctuary and Gift Shop will lead you to the children's classrooms. Turn left at the top of the stairs - the toddler room will be on your right and preschool room on your left.

Children's Chapel (PK - elementary ages)

Children are dismissed during the 9:15am and 11:15am services for Children's Chapel. They meet across the hall in St. Andrew's Chapel. They process, light altar candles, hear the story and lesson of the day, and say their Children’s Creed and Prayers of the People. Chapel Leaders usher the children back to parents in the sanctuary—during the peace and just before Holy Communion.

Sunday Children's Program (K - 5th grade)

Our Sunday Children's Program meets from 10:20am - 11:15am upstairs on the children's hall. There will be a cross procession for children during the final hymn during the 9:15am service when they may proceed upstairs. Elementary children at Galilee grow in faith through a meaningful and playful study of the Bible. Our classes for children use a dynamic curriculum that follows the Lectionary and includes hands on activities, Bible memory verses, special worship time, along with creative projects.

4th & 5th Grade Youth Group

Our 4th & 5th graders gather on Sunday throughout the year for fun, games, and fellowship.
