our mission

Galilee's mission is to RENEW... You, the city and the world.

Here's why:

The story of the Bible is that of renewal. In Genesis 3 after the creation begins to fall apart from our decision to be our own masters, God declares that He will one day renew the entire creation--and through the prophets He keeps reaffirming that commitment (e.g. Jeremiah 31.31). Christians believe that in Jesus God has kept His promise. Saint Paul says that in Jesus we experience "the renewal of our minds" (Romans 12.2); in Jesus we are confident that one day He'll renew even our bodies (2 Cor. 4.16); and in Jesus we believe that one day He will "make all things new." (Revelation 21.5) God has not only dealt with sin, but in the wake of the crucifixion is bringing renewal and healing to all creation. So our mission falls into three areas...

God loves you and wants to renew you. At Galilee we major in creating opportunities for you to experience the Lord's renewal where you're tired, broken or lost.

God loves the cities of the world (see Jeremiah 29) and he wants to renew them. The cities are influential--as go the cities, so goes the nation. To the degree that we can bless the city, we can also bless the nation. So at Galilee we also major in supporting ministries that heal the city and those who live in it.

God loves His world, and wants to renew it. Galilee reaches across the oceans with both financial support and short term mission trips.

If you're needing God's renewal--and you want to be a part of God's renewing works--Galilee might be your church home. We'd love to meet you--and welcome you into this corner of the Lord's Vineyard.

Grace and peace,

Father Buchanan
